Manning Up

First I feel like I need to tell Emma: YOU MAN UP.
Just in case she sees this.
Now...

I have to do that bird painting for the volunteer hours (I'm pretty jacked actually) but I don't know what kind of bird to do.

What a toss up.

I feel really dirty taking a picture some one else took and using it, but I'm kind of to that point of need.
And I really like this picture :]

Pinhole

I feel like I either complain or talk about stuff I want to do on this blog.
Today is no exception.

ONE: I really really really want a pinhole camera. I know I could make my own with an oatmeal box, but I kind of want a real camera. Our friend just gave us this book his friend made with all his pinhole photos and they are so neat.
And his name is Zeb Andrews. That's neat.
Cape Kiwanda 15 seconds.

TWO: I don't like painting myself. It's really not fun. I'm not liking this. I was all jacked to paint because I never straight out pain, now I'm painting though and I'm not liking it. I've been working on it today and it's just a flat out struggle. The mouth isn't done, but I don't want to get too tight with it. The expression doesn't look right and I look like a man. I'm not excited to the do bottom half and I really just want to leave it blank. I don't know, we will see how this turns out.

Pioneers

I remember last year when we looked at song lyrics to try and figure out concentration possibilities.
Thinking about that, I remembered how much I liked it.
But even more, I was thinking about what I want to do this year and how this method might help me once again.
I know I've really been diggin the whole bird idea, but I need to think about other stuff to so I don't get sick of birds before even starting them.
Here are some song lyrics from the Decemeberists song: Sons and Daughters.

These currents pull us 'cross the border
Steady your boats
Arms to shoulder
'till tides are pulled
Hold our grounds
Making this cold harbor now home

Take up your arm
Sons and daughters
We will arise from the bunkers
By land, by sea, by dirigible
We'll leave our tracks untraceable now

Reminds me of pioneers. Which would be a neat idea.

Inspiration?

My saturday night was basically a great big adventure. I won't get into it, but at one point we started playing with moving the camera to get that neat light affect everyone knows and loves.
It was really fun, and afterwards, I knew what to do for my family portrait.
I'm pretty happy I was able to recognize where I was inspired initially.
It's a good feeling.

Hey here's a preview.

Caffeine Pills

I've just recently bought some stay awake pills, which I just tried tonight because I'm studying for AP Euro, fun class BY THE WAY, and they kind of suck, I'm like falling asleep. They worked for what, twenty minutes? Oh well.
So I've also been reflecting on my family for a portrait. Cool my mom just left town, so if I actually want them in it, I kind of can't, unless I just count my mom out. Now, I must either get super creative or pull off some major bs. I don't know which one to shoot for yet, but I will try. A lot.
I'm not really used to family portraits, this is the only one I've ever rea
lly done. I think it shows my cousins personalities quite well.
